POSITION SUMMARY 
 

The Senior Staffing Specialist will deliver full life-cycle recruitment to meet and exceed recruitment goals and hiring manager expectations.  Will be responsible for all staffing needs for the Lake Mary Corporate office and assist in branch and/or sales locations as required.  Build effective relationships with HR business partners, hiring managers and candidates to ensure a successful hiring and on-boarding process.   

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Proactively source candidates using internet resources, social media, employee referrals, direct sourcing techniques and other creative methods.  Working knowledge of LinkedIn recruiter tools and other candidate sourcing methods is required.
  2. Manage the recruiting process through sourcing, screening, and selection.  Responsible and accountable for filling assigned positions with qualified candidates and within target timeframes.
  3. Maintain high level of customer service and add value to Scholastic Book Fairs’ services by advising and partnering in the decision making process as the subject matter expert (SME) for the entire hiring process.    
  4. Provide hiring managers with dedicated expertise to assist them in identifying sourcing channels, assessing, evaluating and hiring people internally and externally utilizing intuition, interpersonal and sales skills, as well as managing the recruiting process to conform to corporate guidelines. 
  5. Work closely with management and other Scholastic Book Fairs employees to identify their specific client (personnel) needs for their department (regular, temporary, and/or contract positions), job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills.
  6. Advise on most appropriate recruiting solutions.  Ensure that all open positions are posted internally and ensure that internal interview process is followed. 
  7. Manage the overall staffing process for managers and candidates; source qualified applicants; review resumes, screen and interview candidates for specific job openings, and refers qualified candidates to hiring managers for interviews.  Ensure that all candidates (both internally and externally) follow the recruiting and hiring process and that the employee referral process is followed accurately.  Coordinate travel itineraries with out-of-town candidates, as needed. 
  8. Conduct thorough reference checks for each individual considered for a position within Scholastic Book Fairs.
  9. Manage relationships with Hiring Managers as within the organization.  Confer with Hiring Manager on the candidates interviewed, and as a collective team effort, determine appropriate candidate to extend an offer to.
  10. Leverage diversity recruiting strategies with other company-wide diversity activities
  11. Manage 3rd party recruiting vendors and resources to ensure optimal quality candidate flow from a variety of sources
  12. Maintain Tracking Logs for job openings and candidate-records.
  13. Understand US work eligibility concepts and engage appropriate legal and HR partners as needed
  14. Create and analyze staffing metrics/measurements and recommend improvement opportunities.
  15. Ensure Applicant Tracking System is updated with quality data to comply with OFCCP regulations
  16. Coordinate and arrange for initial orientation of newly hired employees.
  17. Maintain confidentiality relative to company programs, activities, records, lists, financial information, drug testing results, and personnel records.
  18. Other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  2. Minimum 7 years of combined HR and professional recruiting experience.
  3. Must have proficient computer skills in MS Office
  4. Highly skilled utilizing enterprise-wide Applicant Tracking Systems, such as Taleo/Oracle, Kenexa, or SAP
  5. OFCCP compliance, AAP plans working experience and knowledge
  6. Working knowledge of Human Resources practices, including employment, recruiting and relocation.
  7. Strong skills in verbal, written and interpersonal communications.
  8. Excellent organizational, analytical skills, attention to detail.
  9. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to staff members at all levels.
  10. Multi-task oriented, efficient and accurate under pressure.
  11. Professional demeanor, attire; professional phone skills.
  12. Ability to work independently and prioritize workflow to meet critical deadlines.
  13. Self-motivated, disciplined, commitment to quality and strong team player.
  14. Ability to be flexible, adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
