About the Corporate Summer Internship Program

The Scholastic Corporate Summer Internship Program is open to junior and senior college students. It provides an opportunity for students to gain experience in a variety of Scholastic businesses.

  • Our summer internship program runs 8 weeks from June 19th to August 11th. All intern positions are paid. (Housing and travel expenses are the responsibility of the interns).
  • Qualified candidates should be entering their junior or senior year of an accredited college or art school.
  • All students must be in good academic standing and have strong computer skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • All interns must be able to work a 35 hour week.


  • Interns are selected on the basis of their academic standing, participation in extracurricular activities and previous work and/or internship experience. Students with a demonstrated interest in publishing are highly desirable.
  • Interns will be interviewed by telephone or at a Scholastic office. References may be requested.

Do you only have a summer intern program or do you have openings in the fall, winter and spring? Our corporate internship program is in the summer. Sometimes in the fall and winter we may have internship opportunities for paid interns. If opportunities become available, they are posted online in the Scholastic Career Center. You can search the main Career Center page for internship opportunities.


What is the dress code? Dress codes vary by department, but generally, business casual is appropriate.


Are there any activities during the internship program? Yes, if you are placed at the Soho campus, we have scheduled sessions where you get a chance to hear from Scholastic leaders who give career advice, and information regarding their divisions.


I am not from New York. Do you have information regarding housing? Housing is the responsibility of the intern.


In which locations are internships available? The main internship program is hosted in our corporate offices in Soho, New York City. Occasionally, we may have an opportunity in our Secaucus, NJ location.


Where in New York is Scholastic’s corporate headquarters? Corporate headquarters is located in SoHo in lower Manhattan, one of the trendiest neighborhoods in New York City.


What are the work hours? Typically, the work hours are nine to five but may vary slightly depending on department.


I am not a college junior or senior. May I still apply? Our corporate-­‐sponsored program is geared toward rising juniors and seniors, occasionally a few opportunities will be provided to graduate students.
