ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Analyst will be given requests for data, reports, or analysis with the expectation of understanding the business need, identifying the source of the data, validating the output, and presenting the information to the users in a manner that is relevant to them. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Create reports, analysis, or charts that accurately represent the data to the requestor in a usable format using tools such as SSRS, Tableau, Power BI, or others.  Automate manual processes wherever feasible.
  • Perform front to end data acquisition including aligning stakeholder requirements with vendor available data, validation, driving progress with regularly scheduled meetings, and writing to tables using SSIS. 
  • Develop data analysis methods for requests, creating estimated timelines for completion and providing ongoing status updates to upper management and internal customers.
  • Work with internal/external customers to define and document detailed user requirements, assist with quality assurance of finished product prior to user acceptance testing, assist with user acceptance testing/training, and obtain user signoff for system enhancements.
  • Lead process improvement efforts including outlining existing procedures, identification and elimination of inefficiencies, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and providing training and follow up to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing adherence.  Creates process maps, flow charts, or other organizational tools.
  • Responsible for managing prominent reports that require ongoing monitoring and operational intervention, seeking input from managers, carrier representatives, or other stakeholders as required.
  • Develop methodology for estimating savings for proposed projects and tracking ongoing initiatives.
  • Must occasionally perform systems testing and maintenance, including acting as backup to the Varsity/OTM Rate Super-User and troubleshooting configuration issues.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience in CIS, Database Management, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Database, data analysis, and reporting software experience required including advanced SQL programming, Visual Studio, and SSRS/SSIS.  SSAS or other modelling and presentation experience a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, charts, Power Query. VBA or macros a plus.
  • Requires strong number sense and understanding of which charts will most accurately represent data.
  • Deadline oriented and ability to work under stressful situations.  Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to learn processes quickly, break process down into logical divisions, and recognize opportunity for improvements.  Excellent problem solving abilities. 
  • Must be able to analyze data and make independent decisions to resolve technical and process issues.
  • Knowledge of business/quality metrics, score cards, and processes.
  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be able to build relationships and leverage resources.
