Job Title: Classroom Magazine: Renewal Inside Sales Representative

A Scholastic Classroom Magazine RENEWAL ISR will contact Classroom Magazine customers within assigned schools in order to renew their current classroom subscriptions and persue New Business opportunities as well.


Specific Responsibilities


The Scholastic Classroom Magazine ISR must contact schools within an assigned calling queue & with the goal of assisting & encouraging the customer to renew their subscription.


In addition the representative will upsell and cross sell other titles when appropriate in order to generate new subscriptions


  • The ISR is required to meet their sales goals
  • Maintain a minimum talk time of 25%
  • Meet a minimum of 10-12 dials per hour


Required Competencies


  • Must be able to host customer Webex Sessions


  • Scholastic Classroom Magazine ISRs need to familiarize themselves with our Classroom Magazine product line and understand the technology components in order to be able to demonstrate them for customers.


  • Scholastic Classroom Magazine ISRs need to learn the terminology of the educational market.


  • Scholastic Classroom Magazine ISRs need to have an understanding of computers in order to properly manage their calling queues.

  • Scholastic Classroom Magazine ISRs must present themselves in a professional manner.


Specific Experience


A background in phone sales, customer service, or education can be extremely helpful, but is not




Specific Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks are important for this position.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are also needed to succeed as an ISR.

  • Basis computer skills
