The Digital Regional Director is a key position responsible for driving digital sales revenue and increasing the capacity of the sales teams to successfully sell digital products as part of Scholastic Literacy and as stand alone products.


The Digital Regional Director is a key position responsible for driving digital subscription sales revenue and increasing the capacity of the sales teams to successfully sell digital products as part of Scholastic Literacy and as stand -alone products.

The role requires a driven and accomplished sales professional who has high level account sales and sales management or experience in a strategic selling role in comprehensive literacy and educational technology. Responsible for the creation, coordination, and implementation of strategic sales plans introducing, training, and selling digital products to internal and external customers. Experience teaching or in Professional Learning is required.

The role works closely with the digital marketing teams, and sales RVP, RDs, and AEs to create sales strategies and to sell digital products.

Duties and Responsibilities

Revenue generation - Achieve goal each year Drive new business > $10,000 Drive large renewals >$10,000 Give input and assist in RFPs Liaise with Inside Sales to execute on sales plans

Works with AEs to model, motivate, and strategize ways to increase digital revenue in key targeted Districts by positioning and demonstrating new and existing products, and closing the sale

Possess a high level of expertise in all digital products and their capabilities versus the strengths/weaknesses of competitive products and can provide product information and positioning where needed within an instructional framework.

Maintains broad knowledge of all company products and understands positioning of digital products in an ELA curriculum. 

Synthesizes market information and translates customer feedback into knowledge to inform product positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation that will resonate with educators at all levels.

Develop and close new State, consortium, and virtual school contracts and cultivates relationships at all levels that enhances Scholastics position which leads to major growth of digital subscription products within designated accounts

Drives new digital subscription pilots and manages these pilots in order to have a high conversion rate to sales.

High level of knowledge about operating systems, LMSs, LTI, privacy laws, Clever, etc. 

Escalates and Drives continuous operational improvements as related to the end to end customer experience in order to successfully sell and implementing Digital products



       8+ years experience as a Senior Sales Leader in:

       Selling and closing  major-high level District and State accounts

       Previous sales presentation experience working with Superintendents, Title 1 and Directors of Curriculums

       Strategy development, sales leadership, and team building

       Training, coaching, and staff engagement of sales teams

       teaching/education degree or PD background

       Be able to travel a minimum of 40%

Industry Expertise has extensive education pedagogy and technology market expertise, knowledge of curricula, and understanding of buying process and buying criteria.
