THE OPPORTUNITY

The Digital Western Regional Director is a key position responsible for driving digital sales revenue and increasing the capacity of the sales teams to successfully sell digital products as part of Scholastic Literacy and as stand alone products.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

The role requires a driven and accomplished sales professional who has high level account sales and sales management or experience in a strategic selling role in comprehensive literacy and educational technology. Responsible for the creation, coordination, and implementation of strategic sales plans introducing, training, and selling digital products to internal and external customers. Experience teaching and in Professional Learning is an asset.

• The role works closely with the digital marketing and product development teams, and sales RVP, RDs, and AEs to create sales strategies and to sell digital products.
• Duties and Responsibilities
• Revenue generation - Achieve goal each year • Drive new business > $10,000 • Drive large renewals >$10,000 • Give input and assist in RFPs • Liaise with Inside Sales
• Works with AEs to model, motivate, and strategize ways to increase digital revenue in key targeted Districts by positioning and demonstrating new and existing products, and closing the sale
• Posses a high level of expertise in all digital products and their capabilities versus the strengths/weaknesses of competitive products and can provide product information and positioning where needed.
• Maintains broad knowledge of all company products and understands positioning of digital products in an ELA curriculum.
• Build and scale sales team capacity to sell digital products –Deepen knowledge of sales team by designing and delivering internal training in collaboration with Marketing, SVP, and Sales Leadership
• Synthesizes market information and translates customer feedback into knowledge to inform product positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation that will resonate with educators to all levels.
• Develop and close new State, consortium, and virtual school contracts and cultivates relationships at all levels that enhances Scholastic’s position which leads to major growth within designated accounts
• Build and close new charter school and non-traditional education market revenue e.g. tutoring companies and nonprofits.
• Manages digital pilots sites; sets up, trains, monitors, supports, and collects feedback
• Drives pre-sale implementation planning, when appropriate consults with implementation manager, to respond to questions pertaining to operating systems, SIS, rostering, privacy, Clever, etc.
• Possess an in depth knowledge of internal operational systems and processes– SDM, service escalations, and monitors and participates on hypercare calls for large accounts
• Escalates and Drives continuous operational improvements as related to successfully selling and implementing Digital products



HOW YOU CAN FIT

• 8+ years’ experience as a Senior Sales Leader in:
• Selling and closing major-high level accounts
• Previous sales presentation experience working with Superintendents, Title 1 and Directors of Curriculums
• Strategy development, sales leadership, and team building
• Training, coaching, and staff engagement of both in-house and commission sales teams
• Preferred teaching or PD background
• Road warrior that will be able to travel a minimum of 70%
• Industry Expertise – has extensive education pedagogy and technology market expertise, knowledge of curricula, and understanding of buying process and buying criteria.
• Excellence - has a track record of exceeding goals, sets high standards of performance for self and others with a high sense of responsibility.
• Communications - demonstrates excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal, and an ability to adapt to the audience.
• Relationship building -has an inherent ability to build both internal and external trusting relationships.
• Resourcefulness - passionately finds ways over, around, or through barriers to success. Achieves results despite lack of resources.
