THE OPPORTUNITY
Assist VP, Executive Editor, Trade, and Editorial Director, Scholastic Library Publishing, in all editorial and administrative capacities on a wide range of titles/categories
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liase with the Editorial, Design, and Production departments to track workflow and guide books through the preproduction process. Assist in reviewing all routing materials for manuscripts and projects
- Create and maintain individual title records and P&Ls
- Provide editorial assistance, including copyediting, proofreading and fact-checking, follow up on contracts and payments
- -Process incoming manuscripts, provide rejections as needed, and manage flow. Write reader’s reports and draft correspondence as requested.
- Create title information sheets and conduct competitive title information research
- Assist editors with catalog and book cover copy
- Prepare materials for meetings, including Acquisitions, List Launch and Sales Conference
- -General administrative work, as assigned

- Proficiency in Word required
