Each year Scholastic Book Fairs, in partnership with schools across the country, hosts more than 127,000 book-sale events that give more than 35 million students and their families access to thousands of affordable and educational products, helping foster a lifelong love of reading.
 
We are currently in search of Administrative Support Representative to help our team achieve their goal of ensuring schools schedule and host successful events. Qualified candidates will possess a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to support senior executives. They will support our mission to encourage reading and promote lifelong learning, and demonstrate our values of caring and respect for all people.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Perform administrative duties required to support personnel in Sales, the Regional Office and Branch Office locations, as requested.
  • Greet customers and provide customer service.
  • Support in planning local sales incentive programs to motivate consultants and build a positive working environment.
  • Assist sales manager with onboarding/orientation of new consultants. 
  • Help sales consultants with invitation preparation and ordering for book fair school events.
  • Assist with season kick off planning by updating/creating PowerPoint's, running presentations, and distributing new sales information to sales consultants.
  • Support sales manager and supervisors with tracking of sales consultants activities.   Monitor weekly multi calendars, distributing all memos, filling sales requests for reports.
  • Collect and assist in the special recognition of employees while maintaining confidentiality and support.

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Two years of college or business school preferred. 
  • Minimum two to three years experience in an office environment, including providing administrative support. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills in Word and Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to staff members at all levels.
  • Multi-task oriented.
  • Professional demeanor, attire; professional phone skills.
  • Must read, write legibly, and clearly speak English.
  • Good proof reading skills, ability to operate 10 key calculator.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workflow to meet critical deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, commitment to quality and strong team player.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
