Scholastic is seeking an Internal Communications Coordinator, reporting to the Internal Communications Manager in the Corporate Communications department. The Internal Communications Coordinator is responsible for writing, editing and publishing various types of internal communications (including Intranet stories, emails to staff, executive memos, and other content), making updates to the company Intranet, and operating within a Drupal/CMS environment. The daily work of the Coordinator includes proactively reporting news from various divisions of the company, writing and disseminating information to internal audiences, solidifying communications best practices, and other opportunities. This role also requires regular writing for the Scholastic blog, On Our Minds (




 Work with the Internal Communications Manager to write and publish communications to Scholastic’s internal stakeholders on the corporate Intranet
• Write and edit personnel announcements and other corporate communications, including memos, HR, benefits, facilities and IT communications, copy for flyers, and more
• Think creatively about ways to disseminate internal messages and engage key internal audiences in productive dialogue
• Make day-to-day revisions to the corporate Intranet content pages and to the “About Scholastic” section of and post press releases on the Media Room
• Assist with corporate employee engagement activities
• Work on various projects as assigned by the Vice President and Manager

• Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of communications best practices
• HTML coding skills, FTP experience and Photoshop skills a plus
• Knowledge of a Drupal or similar CMS environment a plus
• Ability to handle deadline pressure and juggle multiple projects
• Fastidious attention to detail
• Accuracy and diligent fact checking
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional presentation



• B.A or higher degree
• 0-3 years experience in communications or related field
