Under the direction of the Inventory Strategy Manager, the Inventory Strategy Supervisor is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the 1st shift Inventory Control team.  Supervise a team of 10-18 inventory control clerks and analysts.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Provides direct supervision to inventory control personnel.

·        Responsible for communication of the strategic vision to the inventory team. 

·        Responsible for developing & implementing tactical plans to support the overall goals of Strategic


·        Responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements. 

·        Responsible for providing direction and support to the inventory control department.  

·        May provide training and technical assistance in other departments. 

·         Will handle performance reviews, disciplinary issues, coaching/counseling and overall employee relations.

·        Maintain safety standards in the department.

·        Oversees Kronos coding, verifying time and monitoring attendance.

·        Will schedule personnel and track staffing requirements.

·        Matches the skill and background of personnel to work required.

·        Assists in developing a program to train and motivate personnel for increased effectiveness.

May be involved in various projects and cross training in other areas/responsibilities.


·     Previous Supervisory experience preferred.

·     BA/BS degree in Management, Business, Transportation, or Operations related curriculum preferred.

·     Knowledge of proper inventory control procedures and their impact on the business.

·     Be able to apply statistical tools and identify data trends.

·     Be able to make quick, data-driven decisions.

·     Possess strong time-management skills.

·     Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines.

·     Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment & work flexible hours as


·     Ability to identify and implement process improvements

·     Demonstrate excellent communication skills.

·     Previous AS400 experience preferred.

·      Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with teams being supported.

·     Must have the ability to motivate staff and handle a variety of both personnel and technical issues on an

     ongoing basis.

·     Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both in a team and on their own.

·     Excellent attendance and performance record.
