THE OPPORTUNITY / RESPONSIBILITIES 

Scholastic Education Marketing Manager

Scholastic Education is looking for a highly-collaborative and organized Marketing Manager to support its small-group curriculum products. S/he will be responsible for the creation and management of marketing materials and strategy related to the division's products focused on intervention and assessment. This includes sales support, creation of marketing collateral, integrated campaigns, competitive analysis, operations and more.

Product Management: 

• Serve as an expert on product information including features/components, teaching and student materials, pricing, and competition
• Maintain expert knowledge of the K-8 education market, with a focus on intervention and assessment products
• Develop integrated marketing campaigns for products including, but not limited to, messaging, print and digital collateral, conference strategy, email marketing, sales presentations, advertising, content marketing, website management, and social media
• Work closely with the product development and editorial teams, representing the voice of the customer in the development process 
• Write customer responses to complex customer questions and RFPs
• Be available to sales, professional services, operations, customer service, design and editorial to problem-solve and close issues

Sales collaboration and Leadership:

• Support the sales and service organizations as they communicate with customers
• Keep the field and inside sales teams up-to-date on latest information and products, positioning for new markets segments and competitive intelligence
• Partner with field sales and regional marketing teams to develop specific product presentation tools to ensure deep selling expertise
• Develop competitive story and support sales team in strategic competitive selling
• Launch new enhancements and products to the sales team


HOW YOU CAN FIT 

• Bachelors degree or higher, preferably in marketing, communications, or education
• 3-5 years experience in marketing, with a focus on education or literacy
• Understanding of the K-12 education market; classroom experience a plus
• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences including sales team, editorial, finance and operations
•Excellent project management, organization, writing, and presentation skills
• Ability to juggle multiple projects amidst opposing, high-impact priorities
• Highly collaborative teammate and willingness to support colleagues' related products
• Expertise with Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Periodic travel required
