The Core Instruction Product Manager is responsible for the support in creation, management, and delivery of Scholastic Education’s K-6 “core” Scholastic Literacy product marketing initiatives. The Core Instruction Product Manager will support in the creation and execution of national and regional print and digital marketing collateral and campaigns, sales presentations, field communication plans, and must have 2+ years’ experience managing and marketing products in the education or consumer publishing space. The Core Instruction Product Manager will also play a key role in creating and collaborating with all sales channels in the creation and execution of various campaigns through tele-marketing and direct marketing channels. This candidate will also need to develop an understanding of our portfolio of products, along with various state and national standards, and a deep understanding of core classroom implementation and selling cycles. This position is accountable for supporting channel and product marketing for Scholastic Literacy, as well as supporting in sales presentations and various launch efforts both internal and external.  
 
 
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Demonstrates understanding of assigned disciplines including core and supplemental products as well as technology associated with such products.
 
Works with Account Executives to understand client needs and transfer this knowledge to pre-sales, sales, and post-sales environments.
 
Create and communicate marketing strategy to internal and external clients (field sales)
 
Manage, create, traffic, and present marketing collateral in both and digital formats from product brochures, websites, email, and field support
 
Presents Scholastic Education products in an organized, accurate, and motivating manner to internal clients
 
Customizes the sales message with awareness of customer needs, campaign issues, and competitive knowledge.
 
Works to refine and develop market, curriculum, and product knowledge by reading the market, recognizing trends, determining customer needs, and communicating effectively with the sales team.
 
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of subject matter and curricular issues and utilizes information to build a foundation for effective communication with customers.
 
Demonstrates a depth of product knowledge to position products in a way that reflects product strengths while aligning with market issues, curriculum trends, and customer needs.
 
Utilizes knowledge of competitors’ products to enhance product positioning.
 
Serves as a resource for customers and colleagues when market or product information is needed.
 
Stay informed on sales progress and communicates to the Account Executives and internal teams in order to capitalize on sales opportunities and position product effectively.
 
Submits required reports, field communications, and marketing collateral in a timely manner.
 
 
HOW YOU CAN FIT   
 
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or other job related discipline.
  • A minimum of three to five years of successful education experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Collaboration skills.
  • Highly organized and able to transfer strategies into actions that deliver results.
  • Outstanding presentation skills with ability to develop same skills in others.
