 THE OPPORTUNITY/ RESPONSIBILITIES

Job responsibilities for Proprietary Planner

1) Initiate pricing requests for custom and proprietary projects; enter project specifications into internal systems and work with manufacturing planning to establish vendors and costs associated with project. Communicate those specifications, costs and lead time to the development team. Distribute dummies of projects to development team for review and approval.

2) Review standard backlist requests to ensure we have contractual rights to sell into Special Sales market. Once confirmed provide pricing to development/sales teams.

3) Ensure communication regarding the status of special projects to all relevant parties through weekly report. Attend development team meeting and production status meetings to gather information for weekly report.

4) Once Sales confirms project is being ordered, generate the kick off of the project which informs editorial, design, production and manufacturing teams that project should be started and any special requirements. Ensure product can meet established deadlines, provide Sales with confirmation of deadlines and track project’s progress through weekly report. Ensure project is meeting event milestones for approvals and send product pdfs to Sales team for sign off and approval from client.

5) Liaise with Operations and Supply to ensure, once a project is approved to manufacture, retailer logistical requirements are met and provided. Communicate with Special Sales team to ensure questions and issues are resolved.

6) Coordinate with outside packagers to gather relevant system information for Sales to present costs to clients. Ensure specifications of the project are provided using company documents and enter information into internal systems for manufacturing planning to set up vendor.

7) Quality assurance on finished product – review and ensure product meets approved specifications, distribute product to Sales and Editorial teams. If issues, work with teams to determine course of action for resolve and postmortem of where issue occurred.


HOW YOU CAN FIT

• College degree
• Familiarity with Word, Excel, STEP/EPIC, CLM and production process.
• Knowledge of Scholastic backlist a plus.
