A key member of the Regional Marketing team; responsible for the strategic marketing of Scholastic Education’s suite of programs and services in key states that are a priority for growth, including state adoptions; builds trusted relationships with sales organization; and maintains strong partnership with key stakeholders to ensure alignment across the organization.


With precision, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects in development at once, the Regional Marketing Manager will oversee day-to-day marketing operations related to regional strategic campaigns and activities and assist in planning, management and deployment of these campaigns.





Build and maintain strong partnerships with the sales team in order to support initiatives that directly drive revenue in key states and during state adoptions.


Provide strategic direction to sales team, in order to suggest best tactics/approaches to achieve the task at hand.


Conceive and manage the timely execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that are designed to fully capitalize upon available funding, ensure maximum return on marketing investment, and achieve regional revenue goals.


Lead proactive and reactive marketing initiatives for (a) state adoptions, (b) state partnerships (b) literacy initiatives and (d) strategic initiatives.


Work collaboratively with product marketers and internal teams to ensure consistency with branding and messaging.


Advance Scholastic Education’s image as a partner with state and district leaders; deliver marketing components that reflect an appropriate brand, voice, and sensibility for top tier clients.


Other responsibilities include:


·        Oversee task list per project

  • Establish and monitor multiple, fast-moving deadlines
  • Guide sales proposals to completion
  • Oversee copy and design that aligns to branding and messaging goals
  • Review, edit, and proofread all assigned projects
  • Monitor effectiveness of activities to ensure positive ROI
  • Communicate and liaise with Field at every step
  • Create and adhere to the schedule of all projects and complete on time
  • Design and execute follow-through campaigns for won RFPs
  • Maintain project workflow, seeking information, approvals, and resources needed to maintain time, budget, and content requirements
  • Report status of campaign through various stages, including test results, list and
  • Research state initiatives and changes to legislation, as well as trends
  • Work with sales leadership to design follow-through campaigns for regional events





Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • Excellent communication and stellar writing skills (must be able to write for a range of purposes – email, brochures, social, invitations, posters, etc.)
  • Highly collaborative
  • 3-5 years of strategic marketing experience, education marketing experience preferred/knowledge of market for reading curriculum materials for K-12 schools
  • Intense commitment to following-through on all projects until completion.
  • Team player with high energy and an open mind
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and to continually shift priorities given sales team requests



Other Requirements:

  • Periodic travel will be required
  • Strong orientation to detail
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Flexibility and willingness to help colleagues in management of related products
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment (including a variety of colleagues and business units throughout the country)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to partner with others and deal effectively with multiple priorities and differing points of view
