THE OPPORTUNITY

 


 Our Education Division is seeking to hire a highly qualified Regional Director of Professional Learning in California, with deep knowledge and experience with literacy. The role of the Regional Director is to manage and provide leadership to a regional team made up of a cohort of Literacy Specialists, partner with the sales team to position professional learning solutions to customers, ensure high quality and timely delivery of professional learning entitlements to customers, and consult with higher level district leaders on balanced literacy practices, instructional strategies; and guided reading.

 

 
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 


•       Partner with SVP Professional Services, Sales RVPs and other leadership to set and monitor regional goals that drive annual revenue targets, key performance indicators, and organizational strategies around professional learning
•       Partner with SVP Professional Services to improve PLS systems and efficiencies
•       Contribute to the development of PLS content, resources and tools as a subject matter expert
•       Facilitate consultative discussions with customers, sales leadership & AEs to determine district needs for professional learning
•       In collaboration with the SVP Professional Services, establish goals and performance measures for recruitment, selection, and training for professional learning team members
•       Create/Update customer ePlans (Engagement Plans), monitor and ensure deliverables as included on the plan.
•       Maintain the highest bar of service and excellence by consistently monitoring progress, evaluating/observing quality of PL, regularly communicating with districts regarding service experience, with a focus on premier districts
•       Partner with sales to facilitate meetings and deliver high-level presentations to new and potential customers, particularly premiere districts.
•       Coach and mentor direct reports, provide feedback, and measure progress against individualized goals

As a Regional Director, you will be expected to maintain clear and regular communication with all internal and external stakeholders, while providing the highest degree of expertise in literacy instruction and Scholastic product knowledge.
 


WHAT YOU’LL NEED
 


•       Deep Knowledge and experience with balanced literacy, guided reading, literacy stations, digital resources and the 6+1 traits of writing
•       Degree in education or reading related field, Masters Degree preferred
•       At least 5-7 years experience facilitating face-to-face professional learning in literacy and/or reading
•       Minimum of 7-10 years teaching/coaching experience 
•       Ability to maintain a travel schedule of 85%
•       Excellent skills in of Microsoft Office and Power Point
•       Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
•       Facilitation skills, professionalism and creativity
•       Criminal Background Checks
•       Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
•       Current knowledge of college and career readiness standards
•       Knowledge of the human change process and adult learning theories
