Our Education Division is seeking to hire an energetic part-time
Adoption Literacy Consultant (per diem) with deep literacy knowledge around implementing and coaching in the following key areas: balanced literacy, guided reading, writing workshop, independent reading, digital programs, family and community engagement as well as extended day programming. The Scholastic Literacy Per Diem should also be able to work closely with the sales team in identifying the appropriate Scholastic Literacy solution along with ideas on how to customize a comprehensive literacy solution. This position will be appropriate for someone who is looking for part-time work  and is willing to have flexibility throughout the year. 

The Literacy Consultant will also:
• Attend meetings with AEs, RDs, and RVPs for specific CLS adoption opportunities to gather information in order to build the offering for the adoption and to take the offering to a closed opportunity
• Present the final offering to the committee for the CLS adoption for their final selection
• Prepare, present, support and attend all events related to specific CLS adoptions
• Provide support for the field via sales presentations, large meetings, and lunch and learns, WebEx Sessions for large opportunities and additional sales support via phone calls, etc.
• Customize PowerPoints to support the delivery of content to customers
• Coordinate presentation or event needs with marketing and team on the ground in the specific territory
• Maintain the highest degree of product knowledge. Know competitive product set and help position Scholastic products favorably when compared
• Provide feedback and guidance to territory sales team to pinpoint areas of progress as well as development opportunities.
• Support additional follow up required after meetings and presentations in order to support the close of business.
• Maintain and cultivate professional relationships with districts, literacy partners, and the Scholastic internal team.
• Prepare packets and/or folders for campaigns, presentations, and workshops. 


• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills in one-on-one discussions as well as small group and committee presentations.
• Ability to establish positive rapport with teachers and administrators and work effectively with educators from diverse backgrounds.
• Provide great customer service.
• Be a product generalist.
• Have proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Conduct Webinars with customers remotely as needed.
• Master's Degree in education or reading-related field preferred, but not required.
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in delivering literacy presentations
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience and district experience is a plus.
• Ability to maintain a flexible travel schedule
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
