THE OPPORTUNITY

Based in New York City and reporting to the Director, Digital Parents Channel, the content producer will play a key role in helping the parents channel team increase content production while meeting key directives of increasing e-commerce sales, growing the parent audience and increasing efficiency. The content producer will help the parents team drive up content production and produce high quality content-to-commerce initiatives on budget while solving pain points and ensuring quality control.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will provide leadership, ownership, and drive results in the following key areas:

• Be an influential voice for best practices in content strategy, user experience, design, and technology and be passionate about the role content can play in providing value to users.
• Help catalog, document, and maintain a site content inventory of all the Parent Channel’s web, social, and email activities.
• Ensure that the following best practices are being met: conduct content audits to assess and evaluate content quality, conduct competitive analyses of content, create taxonomy/nomenclature lists and definitions and a content model that captures content types and attributes, and prepare gap analysis to identify new content to be developed.
• Manage to SEO standards and ensure that the team adheres to them as they enter content into the CMS.
• Help drive the improvement of Scholastic’s content management system and related tools for ensuring traceability of content.
• Meet specific annual quantitative goals for revenue growth.
• Source, write, and edit stories that are compelling, shareable, and data-driven for Scholastic’s digital channels while ensuring brand integrity.
• Maximize content-to-commerce opportunities via newsletters and email.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously and juggle a high volume of writing, editing, producing, and packaging content.
• Contribute to brainstorming and creative brief development for new copy/content campaigns and projects.
• Manage content within the CMS.
• Collaborate with other copywriters to develop, edit, and optimize content on a daily basis.
• Manage and follow a content calendar for distribution.
• Apply marketing research, development tools, and methods to learn and understand emerging trends and technologies and to communicate this knowledge clearly and concisely.
• Ensure all content that is published is properly edited, quality controlled, and upholds Scholastic’s strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Advocate for and operate under an agile/Lean UX environment with confidence.
• Enter content into the CMS .
• Define user roles, permissions, and content models.
• Ensure that your team is measuring and evaluating content quality on an ongoing basis Manage to SEO standards and ensure that your team adheres to them as they enter content into the CMS.
• Help drive the improvement of Scholastic’s content management system and related tools for ensuring traceability of content.
• Fluency in conducting content audits, creating taxonomies, developing tagging structures, designing content models, and managing teams of strategists who take on any number of these activities.
• Advocate for and operate under an agile/Lean UX environment with confidence
• Ensure all content that is published is properly edited, quality controlled, and upholds Scholastic’s strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
