THE OPPORTUNITY

Based in New York City and reporting to the Director of Digital Content and Enterprise Social Media – Educator Channel this person will drive Scholastic’s content to commerce pipeline for our Educator audience. This position will create and execute a content strategy to create a robust digital relationship with Educators and drive them to commerce opportunities.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will provide leadership, ownership, and drive results in the following key areas:

• Define and document a content strategy that demonstrates how content can be created, deployed, measured and refined to meet user needs and support the business goals of Scholastic
• Utilize data-driven insights, shifts in the market, and technology advancements to evolve the underlying content strategy, and communicate these changes to your team
• Develop standards and best practices for creation, management, maintenance, and governance of content, overseeing both editorial and technological processes in an agile environment while ensuring that all content that is published is properly edited and quality controlled.
• Ensure that you and your team is measuring and evaluating content quality on an ongoing basis and using research and data to ensure content effectiveness
• Establish and maintain a workflow for requesting, creating, publishing, evaluating, and retiring content
• Be an influential voice for best practices in content strategy, user experience, design, and technology and be passionate about the role content can play in providing value to users
• Catalog, document, and maintain a site content inventory of all the Educator Channel’s web, social, and email activities
• Ensure that the following best practices are being met: conduct content audits to assess and evaluate content quality, conduct competitive analyses of content, create taxonomy/nomenclature lists and definitions and a content model that captures content types and attributes, and prepare gap analysis to identify new content to be developed
• Manage to SEO standards and ensure that your team adheres to them as they enter content into the CMS
• Help drive the improvement of Scholastic’s content management system and related tools for ensuring traceability of content
• Meet specific annual quantitative goals for revenue growth
• Write and edit content
