THE OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the customer-facing online services and applications that support Book Fair Chairpeople’s opportunities to grow fair revenue, increase participation and drive transactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with the VP, Business Development & Strategy in creating strategies and tactics for driving Chairperson, Volunteer and Parent engagement through online tools
  • Act as technology business product owner for the following online services and applications; Chairperson’s Toolkit (CPTK), Volunteer Management System (VMS), EasyScan 2 (POS) and stored value payment system (eWallet, eGift Card, Teacher Campaigns).
  • Manage intake and tracking of enhancements, new features and user improvement requests including requirements gathering, business case preparation and scoping.
  • Work with VP, Business Development and Strategy and Senior Director, Business Development and Strategy to develop strategic roadmap for Scholastic Book Fair customer facing services and applications.
  • Prepare and present quarterly roadmap to Senior Leadership
  • Manage, monitor and reconcile online services applications annual budget; ensuring that projects remain on time and within budget parameters
  • Regularly monitor and analyze applications usage metrics and evaluate the effectiveness of tools, methods, costs, and results
  • Plan and develop modernization of the Chairperson’s Toolkit application, aligning with company strategies and customer needs
  • Manage technical team within an agile development environment through concept, business requirements, design/UI, html, functional specifications, and user acceptance testing
  • Interface with Scholastic Technological Systems teams to align and coordinate release plans between multiple scrum teams
  • Create business requirements and groom user stories with development team; prioritize user stories in backlog and for sprint planning
  • Plan and prioritize application releases to align with business goals and agile milestones
  • Manage integration of Online services applications with business systems, including CIS and CRM (SalesForce) applications, to ensure seamless coordination between all systems and Scholastic departments
  • Coordinate with Sales, Product and Marketing teams to plan and align, cross-promotional messages in print, social media and online
  • Develop communications and training materials for multiple users groups for new features released within application
  • Oversee customer support and application training for Subject Matter Experts and sales teams
  • Maintain records on behalf of the Vice President, Business Development and Strategy to support Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements for the CPTK, VMS and eWallet payment system
  • Work on special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. A Masters in Business Administration is a plus.
  • At least ten years of business experience with a proven track record in creating and managing successful online and/or e-commerce systems.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Agile experience a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including experience partnering with others and dealing effectively with multiple priorities and differing points of view in a challenging work environment.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
  • Available for up to 20% travel
